More than 3 millions citizens move every month for a variety of reasons either personal or just merely professional when seeking a new career path.

Moving Industry Early Development:

Moving can be traced to a very early age, and the relocation services in the U.S., those days of the horse carriages can be traced to the days of early settlers. That transport was at the time, the only option for these people as they moved to various parts of the new land.

Immigrants often arrived in the East Coast of the USA with only the bare basic requirements in easy to carry hold-alls. After the initial period of migrating, if they wanted to relocate long distance, they wanted to do so with all their new possessions The birth of the relocation industry was born out of this trend ? the need to move in search of a better way of life.

Moving companies evolved from horse drawn carriages to motorized trucks as people began to migrate across the nation. Consequently, a larger network of moving services was organized to help these people with their relocations.

Temperature-controlled means of transporting food to these people was born out of the need to help these new comers settled in their new homes. We were able to watch as breakables items were transported via separate transporters, too.

The relocation industry experienced a tremendous growth out of the rise of citizens moving consistently across the nation. Before long, quite a few enterprises were vying for the consumer dollar in this market.

In a bid to win more clients, the junior firms proposed one bonus over another. Some offered global level end-to-end services for their higher end customers, while others offered affordable relocation to the everyday individual. A lot of moving companies have even started giving connected services such as real estate sales and purchases for those who had to sell their homes and purchase a new home in a different state.

Relocation companies expanded, opening new offices and this resulted in a lot of new jobs in many different states across the nation. As the job market attracted more workers to various parts of the country, this gave a fertile ground to these relocation companies to flourish.

The moving industry has mushroomed across the nation nowadays. Some relocation providers have catered to a small piece of the moving pie and are only focused on certain specialized area of the moving industry, for example, local moves within the boundaries of a city.

Today finding the right moving company and packer could be only a phone call or a mouse click away. No doubt these companies have played a very important role in the development of the country in its geosocial make up right from the early days.

As a result of this ever expanding need, it became necessary to divide the business to assist the moving customer and any other company that was thinking about starting a moving and relocation business, too.

The Moving Industry Is Regulated In Three Areas:

Considering what the moving customer needs are, the industry can be divided into three (3) types:

1. Intrastate Relocations:

Within the boundaries of a given state moves which are regulated by the state?s own regulating bodies themselves.

2. Interstate Relocations:

These are moves that take place while crossing state boundary lines and are governed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Association ? a division of the Department of Transportation.

3. International Relocations:

Foreign moves ? these involves international commerce between two nations.

When seeking the help of a moving company is important to understand where you fall in these categories because in case of having to file a complaint, you would know where to channel your energies.

The more you understand about the moving industry, the better you can deal with movers and avoid being scammed out of your money because you just didn?t know any better.

It is wise to seek out the right mover for your relocation job and having done your proper homework that allows you to understand the mover?s point of view, you can eventually have a successful move.
